【英国见闻】牛津大学的毕业典礼
正在进行的毕业典礼而发出的一声叹息。剑桥大学也有座叹息桥，形式相仿，却坐落在剑河之上。 大剧院内整个色调呈咖啡色，给人以庄重肃穆之感。众多学生家长分坐在一二层的观众席。在舞台前有三把椅子，德高望重的老校长坐在中间，两名副校长位居两侧，身后是一座镶金的雄鹰雕像。正对着他们的是几十名教授和学生，分坐在两边的一排排椅子上。 仪式开始，一名副校长首先宣读本届毕业生姓名，随后按照不同专业，分别由教授带领着穿有不同颜色学袍，头戴飘有流苏方帽的学生，陆续走到校长面前，这时，全场响起热烈掌声。 最先走上来的是博士生，他们的礼服上镶有白色毛绒领子和红色大披肩。教授握着最前面一名学生的手，向校长鞠躬并报告着什么，之后，校长起身摘帽，逐一对向他鞠躬的学生致意。这时，学生们三人一排，趋前半跪，校长则手持圣经在他们头顶轻按一下，口牛津大学研究生毕业。他邀请我和他妈妈去参加他的毕业典礼。 牛津中用拉丁语祝福，这大概是神学院的毕业生。有的专业，学生呼啦啦会上来十几人，有的仅只有一人。整个典礼就在教授和学生的一次次相互行礼中结束。这时，音乐四起，三位校长起身，在仪仗的引领下，所有人跟在他们的后面，按顺序退场。 毕业典礼充满程式化，但极其隆重，令人印象深刻。尤其是对于这些莘莘学子来说，当他们从大剧院走出来时，既是寒窗苦读的结束，更是人生新的开始，而方才他们和学校共同上演的这一幕，却会永远定格在年轻的脑海中，伴随着他们的一生。英王詹姆士一世曾对此颇为感慨：“如果我不能成为国王，那我宁愿做个牛津人。”
