President Barack Obama says it appears Muammar Gadhafi's four-decade rule is almost over. Speaking from Martha's Vineyard, the president warns the situation in Libya is still fluid and uncertain with the whereabouts of Gadhafi is still unknown.

Prosecutors in New York are recommending that charges in the sexual assault case against former IMF Chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn be dropped. Strauss-Kahn’s accuser and her attorney met with representatives of the Manhattan district attorney's office on Monday.

Officials in Florida and South Carolina are keeping a close watch on Hurricane Irene. Irene could reach the Southeast U.S. by weeks and the storm cut power, down trees and flooded streets in Porto Rico before heading toward the Dominican Republic.

Visitors are getting their first up-close look at the Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial in Washington D.C. The 30-foot tall sculpture inspired by King's “I have a dream” speech, sits between the Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials.
