Parts of North Carolina all the way up to Massachusetts have been rattled by an earthquake. The 5.9 magnitude quake was centered in Virginia and has caused minor damage and some injuries.

Hundreds of Libyan rebels have stormed one of Muammar Gaddafi’s compounds. It’s a futher sign for rebels getting an upper hand as they tried to topple the regime.

Hurricane Irene is getting strength as it roars up the coast of Dominican the Republic. It’s now a Category 2 storm and could become a Category 4 by the end of the week. Forecasters say could hit the US anywhere from the Florida to the Carolinas.

Hall of Fame basketball coach Pat Summit say she’s been diagnosed with early onset dementia. The University of Tennessee legend says she still plans patrolling the sidelines for the upcoming season.
