The defense has rested in the Casey Anthony murder trial without her testifying about the death of her 2-year-old daughter Caylee. Prosecutors have begun their rebuttal case and closing arguments could take place as soon as Saturday.

The heart of Tropical Storm Arlene has struck land in Central Mexico. The Atlantic season's first tropic storm is hitting with 65 mile per hour winds and could dump as much as 15 inches of rain on some parts.

Comedian Stephen Colbert has been given the OK to form a Super-PAC. The FEC gave a tentative approval today saying he must publicly disclose some major expenses as in-kind contributions from the his TV show's corporate owners.

The women's final is set at Wimbledon. Maria Sharapova, the 2004 champ, was a straight set winner. She'll play Petra Kvitova who will be playing for her first major title.
